Korean IT publication ETNews reported that IT experts from both the north and the south agreed to co-operate in developing a version of Linux, tentatively called Hana, and to set common standards.ETNews reported that the agreement was reached at a conference in Yenji, China last week. Beyond development of the Linux version, there will also be other projects which will be worked on together, such as Open Office and "developing the Korean language for excellent open software".As was reported, differences in IT terminology exist between South and North Koreans as well as Korean Chinese. Those involved agreed to make efforts to standardise the terms. To further the agreement and issues, an international conference is to be held in Pyongyang in the first half of next year to bring IT professionals together. Go here for the full article.
